Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS3 Sport LED Fog Pod Lights. Now these three inch fog pod lights are going to give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. And as you can see, I have this light connected to my power source already, and what you see here is the amber backlight that is one of the features of these lights and this is one of my favorite features. This amber backlight's gonna be fantastic, giving you a stylish touch or giving you more visibility when you're not actually using the main beam.
And so you see just how bright that is with my studio lights on here. Let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off just to give you a better idea of what that's gonna look like in low light conditions. Then I'm gonna go for a wide view here just so you can see. And then I'm gonna activate the fog pattern. I'm gonna try not to blind you there.
I'm gonna shine this on my table here just so you can see the difference. So we have the backlight and then we've got the fog beam. And then I'm gonna shine this on the wall behind me, just like that. And so that fog pattern, as you can see, is going to give you a high intensity light and an extremely wide field of view. And these lights have a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin Yellow, which is going to be great for bad weather like rain and fog.
So I'm gonna go back to the backlight there, turn my studio lights back on, and then I'm gonna make sure my wires are still connected here. And I'm gonna shine this on the wall behind me again with my studio lights on just to give you a view of that beam with my studio lights on, just again so you got an idea of just how bright these lights are gonna be. Now the power draw with the main beam is going to be 1.1 amps, and with the backlight, it's gonna be 0.03 amps. And these lights are designed with a newer technology known as TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection.
Now unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't too efficient at focusing all the light where you want it, this custom designed large TIR optic actually collects and focuses all of the light forward very efficiently. And from there, instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into the surface of the lens. So this is going to prevent the normal efficiency loss that you see with an outside lens. As probably know, when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose probably up to about 10% of that light just from it shining through. So by making it as part of this lens, you're to pick up some efficiency there as well. So the lumen rating for the raw lumens is going to be 1,930 lumens. For the the measured lumen rating, it's going to be 1,300 lumens. And then the peak beam intensity is 9,050 candela. And in case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output, and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like the regular bulbs that you buy where you want light shining in all directions. But for a more detailed description of this rating, you can visit this product page on our website or Diode Dynamics provides additional information that you can find. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsche style connector as you see there, and this also, while we're looking at the back of this light, this also has a breather patch on the back here that's going to prevent any moisture buildup. And then this is going to be the pigtail here that's going to be included. And if you notice here on the back, we do have these heat sinks on the back of the housing that's going to dissipate the heat very quickly to increase the longevity of your light. And this light has been built with high intensity LED chips and it features a durable powder-coated aluminum construction. This heavy duty construction will withstand extreme temperatures, corrosion, and vibration. And testing is completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components. And Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled this light right down the highway from us here at Etrailer at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis area. Now just to leave you with some overall measurements, I told you these we inchesre three inch lights. The overall width and height is sitting right at about three and a quarter inches. And then the overall depth from the face of our light all the way to the end of our heat sinks, we're sitting about two and three eight inches deep. Now this light does draw high current, which requires adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics Wiring Harness, you wanna be sure that you use 16 gauge wire or larger for safe operation. Well I think that's gonna wrap up our look today. I do hope that our time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
